You’d think that with all of our time for advance preparation, these last few days would just be used for tying up loose ends and packing. Unfortunately, such has not been the case…. with our flair for the dramatic and tendency to procrastinate, we have been able to spend this time on such tasks as:
- Finalizing our mortgage;
- Obtaining a new health certificate for Chester (turns out the first one listed him as an intact male of 0 lbs…that could have made border crossings problematic);
- Updating our wills (okay, I’ll be honest – this may have been a bit more than just an “update” for me);
- Battling a nasty stomach bug (Dave, not me); and
- Finishing up vaccinations (I somehow completely forgot about my last Twinrix shot until a co-worker asked me about this at lunch last week…).
In spite of all this, I think we may now have our act together (or at least as together as it’s going to get). I’m sure there will be more than a few panic moments in store, but we’ll need to find a way to deal with these as they come. For now, we will just say our final goodbyes, enjoy our last night in a “real” bed and contain our butterflies about the adventure to come.

Have a wonderful time guys!!!! We will all miss you tons!
Sorry me and Adrienne couldn’t be there to see you off.
